    Server Gone Custom :/

    Hi guys,

    Would be great to get a bit of input as to why our server seems to have gone custom (I'm assuming it's down to the latest server patch), I've been having a hunt around but not seen any information on what could have caused the switch. I did see there was some new commands for the start up "ready" gubbins, would it cause issues if we do not have it there.

    Any tips or some idea whats gone wrong would be very useful.

    Do you use any plugin such as Adpative Server Size which disables the Idle Timeout Kick?
    vars.idleTimeout must be 300 to have Normal server presets.
    64 slots mixed Classic mode BF4
    32 slots rush mode BF3

    Ah out of date plugins could be the issue, I think we might of had that before.

    We are currently running

    in-game admin
    latency manager
    multibalancer
    xvotemap

    I'll look into switching them off and resetting the server. Will let you know the results.


    Edit -

    turned off all the mods. did a restart but no change - still stuck on custom.

    Its odd, we have not changed this profile in years, we tweak the map list but thats it. The only thing that is not default is vars.roundTimeLimit "150"

    Will it help adding these in?

    All you have to do is what I did, I run the Adaptive Server Size plugin but only use the idle kick side of it, since last nights updates it's totally broken now.

    How to get preset correct again go into procon in your Parent Layer Control tab/Plugins and untick the Adaptive Server Size plugin if you are running it.

    Then click on the Server Settings tab then drop the menu down to Configuration the area where you can manually disable idle kick by placing a tick into a box, to the right of the tick box is another box, type 300 into that box and hit apply, refresh your battlelog server page a few times and it should be back to Normal/Hardcore depending on your chosen preset, I had to do all 46 BF servers last night Damn you Dice. :/

    Also don't even bother ticking disable idle kick by itself as that also puts you into Custom mode.

    That doesn't work for me I don't use adaptive server size for the adaptive idle kick although I tried disabling the plugin etc, its always been on 300 but I managed to change one to classic cause normal didn't work but can't change my other server from custom (it could change to classic if I try) but I want normal mode. I don't understand whats going on

    Ok so no adaptive server size, hmm just for the hell of it did you click apply next to the 300 to make sure the 300 is set in stone as mine looked fine to, apart from the above I mentioned in my other post I'm not sure, sorry.

    I sussed it, I forgot that you have to restart the round for the changes to take affect. It's sorted but I have a feeling everytime the servers restart I will have to do the same thing cause I remember this happening in the past where we couldn't get our servers to go preset and eventually had to send the vars.preset command in console to get it to work.
