    US vs US? How do we change the faction on the map?

    I find this server is running US vs US, so we change control the faction on each side now?

    Use this commands:

    vars.team1FactionOverride <factionId: integer>
    vars.team2FactionOverride <factionId: integer>
    vars.team3FactionOverride <factionId: integer>
    vars.team4FactionOverride <factionId: integer>

    Example:
    Code:
    vars.team1FactionOverride 1
    Set Faction CN for Team 1

    I've just tested it on one map:

    0 is US
    1 is RU
    2 is CN

    But it could be different in each map.

    Well, it seems to be like this:

    0 => US,
    1 => RU,
    2 => CN

    Are you sure? I've just tested it on Locker CQ.

    Code:

    [11:20:31] OK 0
    [11:20:35] vars.team2FactionOverride
    [11:20:35] OK 1
    And as far as I know and what I see on players tab the teams are US and CN.
    64 slots mixed Classic mode BF4
    32 slots rush mode BF3

    Don't rely on that.
    It might be that we haven't checked all maps and modes and written the correct combinations to the
    map definitions in the BF4.def. That where Procon gets it from.

    You're right. I've checked it also ingame now and US is 0 and RU is 1 on locker.
    Do you know whether the IDs are always the same or is it different on every map and game mode? If not it will be much easier to gather all the information with this vars.teamxFactionOverride command instead of joining the server on every map and game mode.

    I thought the teams shown on players tab are correct on CQ and only the rush information were missing. One reason more to gather all the team information on all maps.

    Haha.. you found one of my servers

    Faction IDs are always the same on every map. So if you set 0 and 0, it'll always show US vs US regardless of the map/mode.

    I'm surprised this is allowed on a Ranked server. I would have expected that to work only on Unranked.
    Don't send me private messages (PMs) unless you really need privacy, like your game server password. If you just have a question or need help, post in one of the threads. It's extra work for me to answer questions and give help in private messages and no one else gets the benefit of the answer.

    Who knows, they might remove it but I like it and will continue to use it for as long as possible. The main reason I did this on my Railway servers was to equalize the team wrt vehicles. Everyone always wants to play with US vehicles on conquest. The side bonus is that we don't have to hear Russian or Chinese voice overs
