    RCon Development Server

    Hey guys,

maybe here some good news for you. I'm currently developing a tool being able to help you, with your plugin development.
This tool will be able to simulate the rcon interface of Battlefield 3, at first.

I'm also thinking about supporting multiple rcon-interfaces. But this will be decided later.

If you're interested in this project, want to help me evolving it, or just want to test it, you can find it here:

    Hi.

The goal is to eliminate the need of a "real BF3" server to develop rcon tools or plugins.
With this devserver macx is doing you can test your application if it scans responses from the server correct or if it sends commands the right way. You can also check how your tool will react if responses do not include what the tool expect.

Actually it handles rcon logins on its own but you need to know what to send back on other commands because you have to build the response the devserver will send by your own on its console.

Thanks Phik_K for this explanation. That's indeed what I want to deliver with this tool.
In its current state (HEAD of source) it can automatically interact with ProCon, allthough not all commands are implemented completely.

My further plan is to create a UI to configure the current state of the "server" like current BanList, current PlayerList and so on, and react to the commands received by the rcon-tools testing against the "server".

I am also working on an understandable documentation, allthough this is not easy ;-)

    Hey Guys,

the next release is straight ahead. Within the next week I think I can complete the features targeted for v0.3a of this tool.
These are the points to be targeted in the upcomming version:

    • Scripting events
    • Scrolling in communication
    • Redesign within communication display
    • Editable Player-List
    • Further automatic responses to client commands
    • Small usability changes within the UI

Any ideas on further enhencements? Anything what is missing?
I'm looking forward to your answers.

Perhaps have a preview on the >>last build<<

I'm going to try this out. Where is the documentation on scripting events? Samples would be good too. Like a join, spawn, kill, die, leave sequence for a single player. Did you add a delay command?
Don't send me private messages (PMs) unless you really need privacy, like your game server password. If you just have a question or need help, post in one of the threads. It's extra work for me to answer questions and give help in private messages and no one else gets the benefit of the answer.
